Warm Up Exercise Using the directions we learnt last week from the treasure hunt, the class had to turn left, turn right, turn back to the front, sit down and stand up. Apart from a few comical errors, the students have remembered their directions very well!
Lesson One - Tones and Pronunciation Review of last weeks sounds.
Lesson Two - Question time Please refer to the Question Sheet found here. You can also link to the last few classes, 2008 and 2010, here.
Lesson Three - 300/800 words - Clothing Toshi was invited onto the platform to be the model for class. The class learnt áo sơ-mi (Business shirt) Quần dài (pants) and cà-vạt (tie). Jenna was then invited onto the platform to model áo đầm (dress). The class received a sheet of Clothing and material. Each student was given a sheet with four names, four types of clothing and four material types. Anthony split the class into 3 groups and we all played Cluedo. The helper for each group would keep a name, item of clothing and a fabric and then distribute the remaining playing cards to the students. Each person would guess who the person was, what they were wearing and what the clothes were made of. The other students would then let them know if they had any of those words. Then the next student would use that information to make another guess, continuing in this way until they correctly guessed the name, clothing type and material type the helper was holding. Tôi nghĩ...........mặc......... I think ..(name)...wears..(clothing)..
Lesson Four - Tones and Pronunciation - Page 26 More revision from last week New sound: UÔN - UÔNG New sound: UÔM New sound: UN - UNG New sound: UM
Lesson Five - Dictation Each student received a dictation chart, Michael read the title and first paragraph of the inside cover of the Listen to God and Live Forever brochure. The class wrote down as accurately as they could what they were hearing. This will be marked and given back to the students next week. Please note, this is not a test. This is to help you learn correct spelling, if you make mistakes, this is a good thing. Why are we getting you to write before giving you formal training in writing? This is an accelerated class that is focused on helping you hear and speak. Using what you hear through dictation, writing it down and having it corrected, builds a link between what you hear and how words are written.
Lesson Six - Culture Lesson - Questions This lesson covered how culture affects the way we ask questions in the ministry. Lesson Seven- Field Service - Memorial Invites The class received a new presentation that we can use to offer the invitations.
